Things I Forgot About Newborns…

So I’m still in the “newborn haze” after birthing an adorably perfect baby boy on Tuesday, but I had forgotten a lot of key things about this darling time period…

Such as…

-how newborns claw their faces up with their little needle-nails.

-how they think it’s funny to sleep all day and be up all night.

-how they poop. And then poop again…while you’re still changing the first poop.

-how their cries sound like that of a kitten.

-how light and portable they are to carry, as compared to a tantruming 2-year-old.

-how their tiny diapers look like they are too small for even a doll.

-HOW IRRESISTIBLY CUTE THEY ARE!

What did I miss? Did you love the newborn stage or do you prefer when babies are a little older and less fragile?

How delicious they smell. Most of all, just the miracle of it all.

The cat meow like cry is forever engraved in my brain. So innocent and cute, at first, and then taken over by the lion’s roar once those lungs get a singing 🙂 The smell is oh so wonderful and the other thing I loved was how they just sleep on you like a little blanket.
