Seriously, where has this month gone?

Less than two weeks until Thanksgiving and I feel like November just started. I still have so much to do to get ready to host Thanksgiving, finish up my Holiday Gift Guides, and just generally get in the holiday spirit.

In other news, today I have that fun sugar test to see if I have gestational diabetes. Remember that one? Where you drink the sugar water and wait an hour while having fasted all morning? Good times! Wish me luck…

Since Andy Cohen’s new book, The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look at a Shallow Year, was released this week I thought I should have a giveway. So if you want to win one of three copies of The Andy Cohen Diaries, keep reading!

Pre-Dinnertime Meltdowns

We are still in a Daylight Savings rut at my house. My one-year-old has been waking up at 5:15-ish every day this week.

Maybe that’s why by 4:00 every afternoon, we are having meltdowns. All of us. This is when I am trying to make dinner, and this is also apparently when my son decides that nothing will make him happy.

He throws himself at my legs, hangs on for dear life, and doesn’t understand when I ask him to please get off of me while I’m dealing with boiling water or a hot pan.

He cries and whines. SO MUCH. My three-year-old suggests that “maybe his teeth hurt, Mommy.” (Oh really? Only at this certain hour every day?)

I give him a small fruit and veggie pouch to tide him over, which will pacify him for a good thirty seconds.

But then it’s back to crying and hanging on my legs! The only thing that will make him stop is if I pick him up and hold him. While I’m trying to chop vegetables.

Is this dinnertime prep hour the most challenging hour at your house, too? I have started trying to prepare myself mentally so that I don’t lose my mind each day. I have this aromatherapy spray called Chill Pill that I spray for a mental boost.

I mean, does it really work? Who knows? But at least now my daughter will bring the spray over to me if I start yelling. It’s a good reminder to stop.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Thanksgiving Countdown

This weekend I am finalizing my Thanksgiving dinner menu and making my shopping list.

Then it’s fun stuff like figuring out seating, moving tables around, and putting up festive Thanksgiving decor. Good thing I never carved our Halloween pumpkins…now they can be used as part of a rustic Thanksgiving setup outside with hay bales and mums!

Are you hosting Thanksgiving, too? Make sure you pin my post, “Hosting Thanksgiving: A Survival Guide” for later.

Hosting Thanksgiving: A Survival Guide. My top ten tips for making hosting Thanksgiving a breeze!

An added tip that isn’t in my Hosting Thanksgiving: A Survival Guide post– don’t make up your menu when you’re hungry. Right now mine has like 17 desserts on it. #BonusTip

Blog Changes

I’m in the process of changing some design elements on my blog, so be patient if it looks a little hodge-podge right now. It will look fabulous soon, just you wait!

The talented Techmomogy Designs is helping me get my blog exactly how I want it. Improving the design is a step in a blog course I’m taking right now.

If you are interested in taking your blog to the next level (increasing traffic, revenue, etc.), I highly recommend Elite Blog Academy, which will be opening up registration again in the next few weeks. It’s an investment, for sure, but I have seen results!

Feel free to email me for more details (Lindsay@TheNaughtyMommy.com) and I’ll share info on how to register as I get it.

My favorite Bravo show is Watch What Happens Live, because the reality Housewives are on there a lot – and I watch all the Real Housewives shows. I like all that junk/reality tv. I would love to win Andy’s book and get the behind the scenes dish!

There is something strange going on with the rafflecopter. A few hours ago, it was showing I has 12 entries. Now it is showing 10. The same thing happened yesterday. I should have 14. in total and will tweet about it tonight, which should bring me up to 16. Why is it deleting my entries?
