Well, the Sam Hunt concert came and went. Did I drink?!

Well, the day for the Sam Hunt concert with my friends finally arrived.

So did I drink?

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you will already know the answer to this…

But YES. I had some beer.

My estimate is that I consumed about half a beer total over the course of the day.

Let me back up…

I started the day feeling completely at ease with whatever decision I made– drink or not drink.

When I packed up my cooler for the show, I packed some water bottles, a mini bottle of champagne, and some snacks.

I figured if I did want to drink, having a mini champagne bottle would be perfect portion control!

Before we got on the party bus, we played a few rounds of flip cup at my friend’s house.

I played one round with seltzer (lame) and another round with Corona.

It didn’t even taste good to me and I almost immediately regretted it.

But whatever– I rolled with it.

I had another few sips of beer on the bus, and then some more Coors Light for flip cup when we were tailgating.

Not a lot during flip cup, though. I poured very little in my cup.

And that was that. I didn’t drink anything else other than during the game.

We went into the concert and I was fine having nothing while my friends had $60 carafes of wine!!

Do you believe the cost of that?!

I mean, the price alone would have been enough to stop me from drinking wine at this show.

We had a FABULOUS time and I was glad that I still had a really fun time with my friends even though I was sober and they were drinking.

I highly recommend that you go see Sam Hunt if you ever get the opportunity. He is a great performer!

We didn’t get home until close to 1:00 A.M., so I still felt crappy the next day, but just from being tired.

While I was slightly disappointed that I broke my streak of not drinking, I was pleasantly surprised to realize I could have a few sips of beer in the name of a game, and yet not let that spiral into an out-of-control evening.

So it ended up being a good learning experience for me.

My plan is to finish out the week and the rest of the experiment strong.

Less than one beer in thirty days is still a huge accomplishment for me.

Five days to go…
