Happy April! This year is really flying by. 

Today is the last day of my 10-Day No Added Sugar Detox and the first day of my 30-Day Shred workout plan.

More on the 30-Day Shred later…first, here’s my wrap-up of the sugar detox. 

Things that I’ve noticed…

  • Sugar is added to SO MANY freaking foods. I still can’t get over the fact that it’s in breadcrumbs. BREADCRUMBS! Would they really taste so terrible without that added sugar in them?
  • I haven’t been having crazy mood swings. I’ve been happier in general. 

And the most important one…

  • My two-month-old (who I’m nursing) has been sleeping like a champ at night, ever since I cut out added sugars. Like 8-10 hour stretches. The one night that I cheated and binged on six Milano cookies, the baby woke up every three hours. Hmmm…

I will definitely continue to be mindful of which processed foods have added sugar in them and try to steer clear.

I’m also done with drinking soda and juice. I couldn’t believe how many grams of sugar were in a cup of orange juice I was giving my kids in the morning. My kids haven’t had juice in about two weeks and no one has even mentioned it.

Since I like to challenge myself and I need a quick, effective way to get back into exercising, I am starting the 30-Day Shred today.

Thirty days in April and thirty days of the Shred seems like a match made in heaven! Well, actually in hell at first. But it will get easier! I squeezed in Day 1’s workout this morning while my kids were napping.

I love this workout because it goes by so quickly and I find Jillian Michaels very motivating. If you don’t want to order the DVD on Amazon, you can find the workouts on YouTube and just watch on your phone or tablet!
