Looking for something different to bring a new mom and baby? Here are some unique new baby gift ideas.
I am always on the lookout for unique gifts, whether it be a birthday gift for my husband or a new baby gift.
Usually, I strike out and end up buying something tired and overdone. Lately, however, I have stumbled upon a few fun new baby gift ideas that I can’t wait to use!
1. The first are these adorable board books by BabyLit that appeal to both my mommy side and my literary side. BabyLit offers classic literature retold for toddlers. Among the selections: Pride and Prejudice, Moby Dick, and Wuthering Heights. Even better- each story has a lesson. Pride and Prejudice focuses on counting, Moby Dick teaches about the ocean, and Wuthering Heights is all about weather.
I can’t take credit for discovering these adorable books. My mom found them and posted about it on Facebook. She immediately ordered some for my daughter. I’m looking forward to reading them with her and collecting the whole series!
2. Another cute option is One Step Ahead’s baby’s first photo album. It’s made of soft cloth and has wipeable pages. You put photos of your family and friends in here, and baby has her own little book to learn everyone’s faces and names. We have this book for my daughter and she loves it. Now she’s at the age where she can flip through it and label all our family members to me. It’s a wonderful way to teach the names of relatives who aren’t close by!
3. This next gift idea is not something new, but I have found it invaluable as a parent. When I was pregnant, my friend Jen bought me an L.L. Bean Boat and Tote Bag with my daughter’s name embroidered on it in a pretty purple. I didn’t think it was so amazing at the time, but let me tell you- I use that bag every single time we go away for the day, night, or a weekend. It is so roomy and sturdy and can hold a ton of stuff. I absolutely love it. It was an awesome gift!
4. And how about something for the new parents? My friend Becky at Crafty Garden Mama just posted a review of HelloFresh, a delivery service that will send a box of fresh ingredients for select dinner recipes right to your doorstep. I think this is a wonderful idea to send as a gift to a couple who just had a baby. They’re frazzled enough adjusting to a newborn…who has time to cook? HelloFresh is available on the East Coast and all the way out to Chicago.
Hey, you! Stick around. My spidey senses tell me you might be interested in one of the following posts…
