Being a mom can be challenging. It’s a constant balancing act when you are managing kids, housework, meals, a job, and more.

Over the past few months, I have tested out a host of Mommy’s Little Helpers…a.k.a. Things That Make Being a Mom A Bit Easier.

Here’s the crème de la crème:

7. Erin Condren Life Planner

As much as my husband tries to get me to use Google Calendar, I just hate it. I prefer to have my schedule and events written down in a pretty planner with folders, pockets, and tabs. Like this one:

Erin Condren Life Planner

There are so many gorgeous designs to choose from and it’s filled with every section you could possibly need, PLUS inspirational quotes abound, like “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

LOVE! They are currently on sale for $37.50. (Mine was $50 originally, but I had a $25 off coupon from Erin Condren to facilitate my review.)

True story: I knocked over a drink on my desk a few weeks ago. As the water spilled all over everything on my desk (including my computer keyboard), my first thought was “Oh no! My Erin Condren Planner!”

Perfect Prep6. Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Formula Maker

Making bottles the perfect temperature is a breeze with this formula making machine…which we refer to as a Keurig for babies! You will never have to worry about a bottle that has hot spots from the microwave or is too cold from being in the fridge.

The Perfect Prep makes a warm, fresh bottle every time!

Bulletproof Coffee5. Bulletproof® Coffee

This is a product that my brother-in-law got me interested in. He started talking about this amazing coffee that gives you energy, mental clarity, and is good for you.

Bulletproof® Upgraded™ Coffee is made from low-toxin, high-performance beans. It is antioxidant rich and promises to improve performance and focus. There are very specific instructions on how to make this coffee to get the full effect, including drinking it with some grass-fed butter blended in to make it nice and frothy.

I like butter, so I had no problem with this. On mornings when I had a Bulletproof® coffee, I had increased energy and was not hungry at all until lunch. To read more about the science behind Bulletproof®, visit the website here.

I plan on writing a more extensive review of my experience with the Bulletproof® products, so stay tuned!

4. The First Years True Fit IAlert Car Seat

TrueFitIAlert CarSeat

Ever since I learned that parents accidentally leaving their kids in the car was a very real, very dangerous thing, I have worried about this happening to me. I was introduced to The First Years True Fit IAlert Car Seat last year.

This car seat links up with an app on your smartphone to let you know if you leave your child in the car unattended. It also monitors: if the child gets out of the seat while you’re driving, the ambient temperature, and whether or not the seat is installed correctly. Thankfully, I have not had any incidents like that since I’ve been using the car seat, but it’s nice to know that there is an extra safety measure in place.

3. Melissa & Doug Puffy Sticker Play Sets

Melissa & Doug Puffy Stickers Collage

I’m not ashamed to admit that I love when I discover a toy or activity that my two-year-old can do by herself. I was a sticker fanatic when I was little, so I’ve bought a lot of stickers for my daughter in the past year. The problem is- she can’t get them off the sheets by herself, which requires me to sit there and pull each tiny sticker off and then transfer to her finger so she can place it on the paper.

My mother-in-law suggested puffy stickers. I found these adorable Melissa & Doug Puffy Sticker Play Sets and voila! My daughter is able to remove the stickers and apply them all by herself. Plus, they are reusable and come with a scenic background.

I’m not joking when I say that my daughter will spend a good half hour playing with these at a time…requiring no assistance from me! Hooray! Each sticker set is usually under $7 on Amazon.

mustela2. Mustela PhysiObebe No Rinse Cleansing Fluid

I think this was originally given to me as a baby shower gift, along with a host of other Mustela toiletries. (Are they the best-smelling products or what??)

I use this product when baby wipes just won’t get the stink off after a poopy diaper. I use a couple pumps of the liquid on either a tissue or a washcloth, wipe baby’s butt, and we are good to go. I find that one bottle lasts me a long time, which is good, because this is $14. But definitely, definitely, definitely worth it.

You probably don’t even know you need it, but once you have it you will wonder how you ever did without!

Makin Music DVD1. Makin’ Music For Families DVD

I hate that my daughter asks to watch DVDs as much as she does, because she will sit there for an hour just watching the show and being inactive…but hey, sometimes she needs to be occupied if I’m watching The Walking Dead finale again doing something else. The Makin’ Music for Families DVD arrived last Friday. By Sunday night, she had requested to watch “the dancing DVD” at least a dozen times.

What I like about this DVD:

  • As soon as you pop it in, the menu comes up- no sitting through commercials like other DVDs.
  • The songs are cute and catchy. Are parts of the music program annoying to an adult? Maybe, but who cares? My daughter LOVES it. Like, she can’t get enough.
  • Each song has either hand or body movements that go along with it, and the children are shown dancing with their parents. My daughter already knows the words to the songs, does some of the hand motions, and comes over to me or my husband to have us dance with her. It is so stinkin’ cute.
  • The DVD has a section that explains how to make some easy instruments at home. We made the egg shakers tonight. There’s also a section that tells you what skills each song addresses, which is helpful for parents trying to work on certain issues with their child.

The Makin’ Music For Families DVD is available here for a sale price of only $4!

If you have questions about any of these products, leave a comment and I will get back to you.

What is your favorite “Mommy’s little helper?” Other than wine, that is…   😉
