Tonight, The Michael J. Fox Show premieres on NBC at 9:00 P.M. That Michael J. Fox is at the helm of a new network TV show is cause for celebration in the Parkinson’s community, because it reminds us to “think able.”

Think/able is a campaign started by the Michael J. Fox Foundation, a community of people aligned around the goal of finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease in our lifetime.

The message of think/able:

Our challenges don’t define us. Our actions do.

Fox has been living with Parkinson’s since 1991, but he hasn’t let it keep him from living his life, working, and being in the limelight. That is how he displays the ability to think/able.

This is a cause near and dear to my heart, because my stepfather has Parkinson’s, which I wrote about in a guest post here.

So tonight, tune in to watch Fox as an example of triumph over adversity. Let him show you how to be optimistic in the face of your own challenges. Think/able!
