Are you guys as sick of reading about me being
nieer nice to my husband as I am of doing it? Just kidding. Sort of.
Day 25 of The Melissa Gorga Experiment went well! It was a Friday, so that always puts everyone in a better mood.
We all overslept a little, because my two-year-old has started sleeping in, and she used to be our alarm clock.
AND the baby (who has a cold) had us up in the middle of night. I stayed up with him from 1:00-3:00 and then my husband took him downstairs so I could get some sleep. According to my husband, they watched some of the Flyers game and surprise surprise, the baby fell asleep. (Hockey puts me to sleep, too.)
So at 7:30 A.M. we were just getting going. Since my husband had complained recently about how he was leaving for work later than he’d like, I took extra pains to try to get my daughter ready to leave with him on time, even though we were running late.
I had her dressed and eating breakfast by the time my husband came in for breakfast. Oh, and I had made both of their lunches. They were able to get out the door for school/work only a few minutes behind schedule.
Because the house had been thoroughly cleaned the day before, there wasn’t much for me to do besides tidying up.
It was also “Clean Sheets Friday” in my house, so there was that to do. I love/hate Clean Sheets Friday. On the one hand, I love having crisp, clean sheets on my bed. On the other hand, I’m the one who has to take the sheets off, wash them, and put them back on.
As for dinner, we had leftover pot roast from the night before…yessss!!!
We got both kids bathed and into bed without much of an issue. Then it was 8:00 and we had the night to ourselves.
What I wanted to do: go in my office and work on my holiday gift guide and mess around on Pinterest. By myself.
What I decided to do: watch TV with my husband.
It was the least I could do…I mean, he made a fire in the fireplace for me. And that is only my FAVORITE part about the colder weather.
We had a relaxing evening watching It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League. I even made us popcorn. (One bowl drenched in melted butter for me, and a plain bowl for him.)
When we went up to bed, I resisted the urge to dig out my cozy blue robe and wear it to bed in this chilly weather.
I also went over to his side of the bed to snuggle. This is something I used to avoid, because for some reason in his mind, me coming to snuggle = I want sex.
WHY CAN’T A SNUGGLE JUST BE A SNUGGLE???
But, for the purposes of the experiment, I am not supposed to be avoiding his sexual advances and I am even supposed to initiate 20% of the time. (According to Love Italian Style.)
So what the hell? I went over and snuggled. And we all know where that leads. 😉
