Today I actually felt *a bit* like Melissa Gorga living the glamorous life. Just a bit.
On Day 23 of The Melissa Gorga Experiment, I had a fabulous blogger event- the Holi-Day of Play at the Hearst Tower in NYC.
I could just picture Melissa Gorga getting all dolled up to attend a beautifully-catered luncheon on the 44th floor of the Hearst Tower.
Although Melissa probably would have worn something a little nicer than my “fancy outfit” of my skinny jeans, white v-neck shirt, gray cardigan, and brown slouchy boots.
Before I left, I told my husband how Joe Gorga accompanies Melissa to all her events. My husband politely declined.
Like Melissa, I, too, was driven to my event. I think the events will usually send a driver to her house to pick her up.
I had to drive myself to my driver’s house- my friend Sarah, of Finnegan & The Hughes. Then we had to wait for my other friend Linda, of Giggles, Gobbles & Gulps. Does Melissa Gorga have to wait for people??? Probably not, LINDA!!!
(All I have to say about our drive up the Jersey Turnpike is thank goodness there wasn’t a camera crew in our car filming all our conversations!)
The event in the city was SO lovely. I was treated like a VIP, much like Melissa Gorga herself would have been. (Although no one asked me for my autograph.)
I got to play with all of the hottest toys for the holiday season. (Stay tuned for The Naughty Mommy’s holiday gift guide…)
I’m pretty sure Melissa Gorga would have been fawning all over the Doc McStuffins Get Better Check-Up Table like I was.
It felt fun to be away from the house and kids for a day and just have a good time with the ladies.
I’m not entirely sure that Melissa would have made her driver stop at a rest stop on the way home so that she could get fried chicken and a biscuit. But maybe?
By the time I got home it was close to 5:00. There was no way I was going to throw a dinner together. But that’s okay- now that Melissa is famous, she says she strives to cook only three times a week. Phew!
I texted my husband:
(The part about sushi was a lie.)
My husband ended up bringing home a chicken and pasta dish and we had an easy dinner in. Then it was time for me to bathe the kids and put them to bed. Sigh. Back to reality. But even Melissa Gorga is just a mom and wife at the end of the day, right?
