Everyone loves bacon. Even babies, apparently, because there are now bacon-shaped teething toys.
I bet you think you know how to cook bacon. I mean, I thought I knew how to cook bacon easily– put it in a frying pan. Right?
When you know how to cook bacon the easy way, you’ll never go back to the frying pan method again.
After all, who wants to stand over a sizzling pan while you and your stove get splashed with bacon grease? Not me!
I HATE cleaning my stove, which makes this new easy way to cook bacon simply THE BEST method out there!
(Unless you’re the type who likes to microwave bacon, which I am not.)
All you need are: bacon, aluminum foil, and a rimmed baking sheet (something like this). It’s practically foolproof.
How to Cook Bacon THE EASY WAY
Line the rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
Lay out as much bacon as will fit on the baking sheet.
Set oven to 400° and place bacon inside– don’t wait for oven to preheat. The bacon goes directly into the cold oven.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, depending on your particular oven and if you like your bacon crispy or chewy.
Remove from oven, place bacon slices on a plate and blot with paper towels to remove excess grease.
My particular oven produces a chewier piece of bacon at 21 minutes. You’ll have to peek in on yours and see how it’s doing to determine if it’s ready to come out or not.
After removing the bacon from the baking sheet, you’re going to (obviously) be left with a lot of grease on the foil.
We like to place the baking sheet (with the foil still on it) right into our freezer, keeping it flat. The grease freezes and then you have a much neater piece of foil to toss in the trash.
Now doesn’t that bacon look delicious?
