I’m not terribly excited about the Super Bowl this year, since neither my Giants nor my husband’s Eagles are involved. (Well, let’s face it…the Eagles are never involved.) Still, I have been trying to be “football festive” this weekend. Last night we watched Silver Linings Playbook, a movie heavy with football and Eagles references (good for my husband), and lots of Bradley Cooper (good for me). I thought it was an excellent movie. It deals with mental illness, the breakup of a marriage, and family strains, but it also has lots of light, heartwarming moments. I highly recommend it.
Today I will make my famous Pepperoni Pizza Dip for our friends’ Super Bowl Party. Since Lilly goes to bed at 7:00, we will stay there til about 7:30 before making the half-hour drive home to put her to bed. Par-tay! And I will be eagerly awaiting Beyonce’s halftime show, because I feel she really owes the world something amazing after lip-synching at the inauguration. I was really disappointed in you, B. Like, really. If my girl Kelly Clarkson could sing live, so can you. (Sidenote: didn’t I read a few weeks ago that Destiny’s Child was reuniting for the halftime show? Was that just a vicious lie?)
I hope everyone enjoys their Super Bowl Sunday and gets to eat lots of naughty foods. I know I will! Go Giants.
