What happened on The Bachelor last night? Get the recap…
As has become the standard, we were left with a cliffhanger situation last week on The Bachelor and had to pick it up after Liz’s (slightly) dramatic exit and the realization that Nick needed to tell the girls about their history. Their sexual history, that is.
To his credit, Nick doesn’t skirt the issue. He makes an announcement that is basically, “I slept with Liz nine months ago, she didn’t want my phone number then, and I don’t want hers now.”
Personally I don’t think this situation is Nick’s fault at all. I’m 100% sure he didn’t want some random chick he banged at Jade and Tanner’s wedding showing up and making things awkward for him as The Bachelor.
I think the girls sensed that, too, because no one was really angry at him for that revelation.
Back to the Cocktail Party…once again, it is ALL ABOUT CORINNE.
She makes a spirited attempt at being sexy by planning a romantic interlude featuring herself, Nick, a trench coat, some whipped cream, and an extreme lack of self-awareness.
I mean, I get it. The whole whipped cream bikini idea works 99% of the time. Guys love it.
But do you know when it doesn’t work? When you do it within earshot and view of the guy’s 18 other girlfriends. Bad call.
It ends up being horribly awkward for everyone involved and Corinne is in tears afterwards. She decides that she will just go to bed and skip the Rose Ceremony, since she already has a rose.
Why not, right?
So Corinne and Danielle M. already have roses.
Nick gives the remaining roses to: Astrid, Taylor, Whitney, Kristina, Danielle L., Rachel, Vanessa, Raven, Jaimi, Dominique, Sarah, Alexis, Brittany, Josephine, and Jasmine.
Whew! That is still a ton of girls!
Nick notices that Corinne isn’t at the Rose Ceremony but thankfully doesn’t fall for her antics and pay her a visit in her room to see what’s wrong.
Group Date #1
Danielle L., Christen, Kristina, Taylor, Whitney, Jasmine, and Corinne have the pleasure of being backup dancers for the Backstreet Boys at a performance that looks like it is quite possibly held in a middle school auditorium. (The audience members were seated on bleachers.)
Corinne, still upset about her whipped cream fail, becomes even more upset because she can’t dance. But, “I’m not a crybaby,” she wails to the camera.
Do you know who CAN dance? Danielle L.
I can’t decide which Nick was more into her…Carter or Viall. But I’m gonna go with Nick Carter.
Danielle wins an on-stage serenade with Nick (Viall) and it is supes awks as they slow dance in front of the other women.
In the evening part of the date, Corinne smooths things over with Nick with a quick makeout session. She then tells the other girls about her nanny.
The nanny cooks, cleans, and probably is Corinne’s only friend. Just a hunch.
Nick gives Danielle L. the group date rose.
Vanessa scores the week’s only 1-on-1 date and it’s on a zero gravity plane ride.
Their date is actually really cute and I can totally see them together.
Vanessa does get sick during the date and puke on the plane, but watching Nick take care of her made me view him as a legit husband or at least doting boyfriend.

While they are eating dinner at the highest point in L.A., their conversation goes deep and Nick sheds some tears, saying that today’s date made him realize that this process could actually work.
Vanessa gets the date rose, obviously.
Group Date #2
Rachel, Alexis, Astrid, Jaimi, Sarah, Brittany, and Dominique are the recipients of the not-as-much-fun-as-the-Backstreet-Boys-date.
It’s a track and field competition with Carl Lewis and two other famous athletes that I did not know.
Astrid wins the competition by default and snags some quiet time in the trackside hot tub with Nick.
Meanwhile…Dominique is melting down. She feels that Nick is ignoring her advances and not giving her the attention she deserves.
She tells him all of this that night during her chat with him. Nick’s response? Time to leave, Dominique!
The group date rose goes to Rachel.
Cocktail Pool Party
In lieu of the usual Cocktail Party, Nick throws a pool party. Sounds like a good idea, but ultimately he will regret it.
Once again, Corinne has a “surprise” planned and this time it’s a bouncy castle just for her and Nick.
Inside the castle (in plain view of the girls), they bounce, kiss, and straddle each other.
The other girls are NOT happy.
Let the conversations with Nick about how they hate Corinne begin…
Taylor, Raven, and Vanessa all voice their opinions and that is where we leave the gang until next week.
