Fun Water Toys for Little Kids

Lately it has gotten even more difficult than usual to get my kids into the bathtub after dinner. I blame the sunlight. “It’s not nighttime, Mommy! Look outside!”

Cue me closing the shades. “Sure it is! Look how dark it is now!”

Also, we haven’t had any good bath toys in awhile…that may have been part of the problem. We were down to using old measuring cups. #momoftheyear

Luckily, TOMY sent us its newest bath toys to check out: See Under the Sea Submarine, Fountain Rocket, and Water Whistler. Keep reading to find out how you can win a set!

All are brightly colored and enticing, but I think my kids (almost four years old and almost two years old) loved the Water Whistler the best.

And why wouldn’t they? It squirts water all over everyone and everything! It’s easy for my son to hold and use. He gets a kick out of making Mommy and the floor sopping wet. But that’s what bath time with toddlers is all about, I guess.

The Water Whistler also makes very lifelike dolphin sounds. It’s almost eerie how much it sounds like an animal!

The See Under the Sea Submarine is fun, because it’s rare to have a bath toy that plays music and lights up. I’m a fan of the little Caribbean melody that plays…makes me feel like I’m on the beach in Jamaica. Now I just need a pina colada!

My toddler liked the submarine because Captain Walrus is essentially a cup that can be filled up and poured out, over and over again. And over and over again some more. It’s kind of my son’s favorite activity in the tub, hence why I used to give him measuring cups to play with.

Another thing I liked about these toys is that I didn’t have to explain how they work to my kids…they just “got it.” That’s how a toy is supposed to be! I hate the ones where I spend ten minutes trying to tell my daughter “this is how you’re supposed to do it.”

Fountain Rocket

We took these toys out to play in our backyard baby pool, too. They’re great indoors and outdoors!

This is a tough response! I prefer to spend my day at the beach and take dips in the ocean, but would rather float in a pool all day. 😎

Can I say the Bay? It’s like the ocean but doesn’t scare my kids as much 🙂
