Introducing a great resource for single moms…ESME!

I am not a single mom…but I was raised by one.

And I know that it’s hard.

I mean, I can barely do all the parenting duties that are needed and I have the help of my husband.

I think single moms are amazing. But they need support and ESME can help.

ESME stands for “Empowering Solo Moms Everywhere” and it’s an online website/community to help women who are raising their kids alone.

Whether their husband is deployed, mentally ill, incarcerated, passed on or was never in the picture, ESME supplies support.

From the website:

“Solo Moms continue to parent in a culture that depicts single mothers as second best, inferior and often the cause of social problems. Consequently, even mothers who know better, feel guilty and worry that their children will suffer because of their family structure. At ESME, Solo Moms, free of labels and judgment, are encouraged to support each other across all social categories, circumstances and routes to solo motherhood.

Dedicated to authentically representing and redefining the experience of solo parenting, ESME provides a much-‐needed, inclusive platform for honest communication, creative expression and  support in a diverse community. Striving to produce content that is informative, inspiring and always focused on the Solo Mom experience, ESME aims to start a social movement of Solo Moms coming together to celebrate the strong, wonderful mothers they are and will be.”

While it shares informative parenting articles that relate to the solo mom experience, the best part of ESME is the community aspect. Members can ask questions, start a chat, and just connect with others in similar situations.

Here are some recent articles from ESME…

If you or anyone you know is a single mom, share this wonderful resource with them. Because we all need a little backup sometimes!
