This craft is perfect for the un-crafty mom…all you need is a glue gun, some candy, and a picture frame!
If you know me, you know that I suck at crafts. Even ones I find on Pinterest…if they have more than, like, two instructions or supplies, I’m out.
I prefer to do activities that fall under the category, “Crafting With Shit You Find Around the House.”
Luckily, I own a glue gun already. We also have a ton of candy at my house.
I had promised my four-year-old we would do some type of gluing the candy onto something craft this morning. The only idea I could come up with was paper or a plastic plate. Not very fun.
Then I thought of a box of cheap picture frames I had sitting in my closet. You know the ones– they are just simple black ones that they sell at a drugstore or Target for a few bucks each.
BOOM. DIY candy-coated picture frames.
I plugged in the hot glue gun, got out the candy, and let my daughter go to work. Fifteen minutes later we had these cuties.
We made them with the larger sized conversation hearts and Smarties.
Really, this craft can be modified to anything you have in your house that you can apply candies to…all you do is put tiny dabs of hot glue on the frame and have your child carefully apply the candies.
Now we have two cute Valentine’s Day frames.
We just need some good pictures to put in them OR we can decorate a piece of paper with a love quote or a Valentine’s Day picture the kids draw on a 4×6 sheet of paper.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
