When You’re Feeling Overwhelmed

What do you do when you’re feeling overwhelmed?

Feeling Overwhelmed

The weekends always seem so full of promise.

Two full days of having my husband home to “help out” and no preschool to rush the kids off to in the mornings.

But then, inevitably, it’s Sunday mid-morning. I’ve been up since 5:30 (thanks, screaming two-year-old) and I’m still in my pajamas with a full to-do list.

I start to get that panicky, overwhelmed feeling as I think of all the things that are not “perfect” or “completed” in my life.

I need to get the toys organized for the consignment sale. I need to finish that blog post. Shit. There’s laundry in the dryer that I forgot to fold last night. Read More »

Reflecting on 2015

This wasn’t how I wanted 2015 to end, but what can you do? Cheers to 2016 and fresh starts!

Happy New Year

This is not how I pictured New Year’s Eve 2015 going down. But there I was, lying in the guest bedroom at 3:30 A.M. awake and unable to sleep.

After attending a late afternoon kid-friendly New Year’s Eve get-together, I came home with my two youngest to put them to bed at 7:00.

I had a slight headache so I didn’t drink any more once I came home. I watched some of the Walking Dead marathon and ate some pigs-in-a-blanket (my fave). Read More »

Increase Blog Traffic and Make More Money

This post may contain affiliate links. Read full disclosure policy here.
With the amount of time and effort I was pouring into my blog, you would think I was getting rich off of it. But unfortunately, I wasn’t.

Sure, my traffic had inched up in the almost two years since I started my blog, but nothing substantial and certainly no sustainable income was being generated.

But I recently discovered the secret of how to increase blog traffic and make more money blogging. Read More »

There’s just something about the end of the year that makes me want to clean, organize, and tie up all my loose ends.

It’s a perfect time to do it, really– you have to clean out your house to make room for new presents anyway. You get to start a new calendar or planner for 2015. You can make New Year’s resolutions.

Lots of fresh starts available for the taking! Read More »

10 Ways to Geek Out Your Home with Comcast Xfinity

Disclosure: I received a tour of the Design Home 2014 and a Samsung Galaxy tablet to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

As a blogger, I occasionally get invited to events. Sometimes the event is just eh, and then sometimes it is so much fun…like the Real Mom Media event I attended last Wednesday.

At the event, we had the pleasure of touring Philadelphia Magazine‘s Design Home 2014 while also learning about the newest technology from Comcast Xfinity.

Now I may not be the world’s most technologically savvy mom, but I know that I now want what these new Comcast platforms have to offer. Badly. Read More »

7 Tips for Making Time for What You Love

This post may contain affiliate links. Read full disclosure policy here.

It seems like there is never enough time in the day to get it all done. Learn how to prioritize and make time for what you really love to do.

In the almost two years that I’ve been blogging, the question I get asked most often is “How do you find time to blog?”

The truth is, I really don’t ever “find” any time to do it. I have to create the time myself, or there would be no blogging (and my husband would be a whole lot happier, but that’s a tale for another time!).

First of all, I think people might assume that I spend more time writing a blog post than I actually do. However, once I have an idea in my mind, it is a very quick process for me to get those thoughts into a post. Maybe an hour, tops (depending on the subject matter, of course). Read More »

Feeling Burnt Out

Confession: I did not watch Real Housewives of New Jersey last night. I’m not even sure I recorded it. Instead, I relaxed in my bed and watched Big Brother…no laptop in sight!

I have come to dread watching all of my favorite Housewives shows, because when I’m recapping them I don’t get to enjoy them. I’m just typing the entire time. Also, it has gotten so that my husband doesn’t even expect to hang out with me at night anymore. Read More »

Mom Mixer with Vaseline – Holiday Showcase

The best part about being a blogger is getting to attend fun events with brands that have great products and information to share. (And getting to meet Elmo, let’s be honest…)

This is especially fun during the holiday season when I get to test out some of the hot toys and items that are sure to be on your holiday gift list! Last weekend, I was lucky enough to attend the Mom Mixer with Vaseline- Holiday Showcase at the Bellevue Hotel in Philadelphia. Read More »
