ABCmouse Review & Giveaway

If your child watches Sprout, then you have undoubtedly seen the commercials for, the educational website for young kids. My daughter began requesting “mouse on the ‘puter” when she was a little under two years old.

I recently contacted ABCmouse about reviewing the website and they were happy to provide me with a one-year subscription to try out PLUS a one-year subscription to give away to a lucky reader!

The website is set up like classroom environment. When you sign up, you create an avatar for your child and he gets his own homepage. Every time you sign on to the site, you hear, “Welcome back, Johnny!” in the teacher’s bright voice. (Very cute!)

There is a Parents Homepage (accessible only with your parental password) that lets you track your child’s progress, add additional users, block activities, build your own unique lessons, and more.

Once logged in, your child is guided through age-specific lessons that let him earn tickets and prizes before advancing to the next level.

Learning is fun, with songs, stories, games, coloring, and visits to the interactive zoo and farm. There are even tons of printables!

ABCmouse is designed for children ages two through six years old. It has over 450 lessons and 3,000 activities. The curriculum was designed with the help of early childhood education experts.

At two-and-a-half, my daughter definitely still needs help navigating the site, but it’s a great activity for me to do with her.

Well, after about a month of playing around on the site, I am happy to report that we LOVE ABCmouse!

The graphics are bright and colorful. The website is easy to navigate. The speed is just right for little ones…it’s not too fast or too busy like other animated websites.

There are SO many different activities to try and different skill levels that this website will be an engaging resource for your child for a few years.

There are NO ads and NO links to other websites.

The current price to use ABCmouse is $7.95 per month or $79 for the entire year, but they are running a promotion where you can try it free for 30 days. See the ad below!

Go ahead and check it out for a month for free…I’m sure you will love it!

One lucky reader will win a free one-year subscription to ABCmouse. Enter using the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of the post. This giveaway has now ended.

    1. Seems like Oregon Trail was everyone’s favorite game! Does anyone else remember the Lemonade Stand one?

  1. Computer Bus day was my favorite day in elementary school. (We had a school bus that went to local elementary schools filled with computers.) We played Oregon Trail and others. As I grew older, so did my love for Sim City and The Sims. I was kind of a computer game nerd. πŸ™‚

  2. I only remember playing Oregon Trail when I was a kid. So glad you posted a review for ABC Mouse, we’ve been thinking about signing up!

    1. I was totally wondering if people were going to write Oregon Trail! That and the Lemonade Stand one are the ones I remember playing on school computers!

  3. Megan had been using ABC Mouse since she was 2.5 (she’s 4.5 now) and Ryan stRted when he was 2. He calls it “welcome back Ryan”. We love it! This is a great giveaway!

  4. Back when I was a child, there were no computer games! This would be wonderful for my pre-school aged grandson!
